Flower headpieces vs tiaras which is more formal?

I was just wondering, which is more formal, tiara or a flower headpiece? Seems that I have a choice to wear either but I wasn't sure if the flower one would look as good as the tiara only because my wedding will be big, and I really don't want it to look tacky when I walk down the aisle; any advice.... I would really like to wear a veil and bridal headpiece at my wedding but the reception is more informal- in a big beautiful backyard-around 4pm. Wedding tiara hurts my head

I purchased my tiara but, after spending tons of dollars, the darn thing won't fit. Worst of all it hurts my head. I wanted to go with pearls and flowers but I am worried about the rest of my wedding accessories not matching. Is there something I might be able to do? I can not wear tiaras and steel.... I have attached a picture of my dress. The wedding is formal. I am hoping to have my hair up with the veil tucked in at the back of my head; removing it for the reception.
